Need some help? Check out these frequently asked AirTroductions questions
1. How should I answer my profile questions? Well, it depends : what are you looking for? If you're looking for a date, keep it light - be a little bit flirtatious, but don't go overboard. Have fun. If you're looking for a networking contact, keep it professional. Talk about what you do in your current job, and how you think you can help them. Remember - networking is a two-way street, it's not only all about what they can do for you.
^ back to FAQ's list 2. What kind of photos should I add to my profile? Well, again, what kind of image do you want to portray? I'm a big fan of putting up one "fun" photo, maybe like me running a marathon or something, one "more serious" photo, maybe something like me at my desk, and finally, one "random" photo. Like me with a celebrity, or skydiving, or something like that. Have fun with it - You can always change them!
^ back to FAQ's list 3. I entered all these essays and they're not showing up on my profile! What happened? Where did you put them? Your essays are in a holding queue - We're going to review them to make sure there's nothing in there we wouldn't want our moms to see, and assuming they go with our terms of service, we'll post them right up. (We might also proof them for spelling and grammar, but only because we're super nice here at AirTroductions.)
^ back to FAQ's list 4. And what about my photos? Same thing. We're just making sure you haven't uploaded any photos of naked chinchillas. As soon as we review them, we'll post them right up.
^ back to FAQ's list 5. Why can't I contact an AirTroductions member that I want to contact? Have you become a paying member yet? Remember - it's free to browse, but to contact, you have to become a paying member. Paid and still having problems? Drop us an email with your user name and we'll work on it for ya.
^ back to FAQ's list 6. How do I suspend my service? Just shoot us an email with your username. We'll take care of it for you. No worries!
^ back to FAQ's list 7. How do I cancel my service? Just drop us an email with your user name and we'll take care of it. If you would, tell us why you're canceling. We'd like to know so we can make AirTroductions better for you.
^ back to FAQ's list 8. Someone's emailed me! How do I read the email? When someone is interested in connecting with you, they'll send you an email through the AirTroductions system. The system, in turn, will send you an email letting you know you have a message waiting for you on the site. AT NO POINT WILL ANYONE ELSE KNOW YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS UNTIL YOU TELL THEM. And if you don't want to tell them, you don't have to! That's the beauty of AirTroductions! Remember - it's free to browse the system, but if you want to contact someone, you have to be a paying member. Go to "My Profile" (above) to sign up!
^ back to FAQ's list 9. There's no one on my flight! Why not? Well, not traveler is a member of AirTroductions yet. Give it time. They will be. In the meantime, you can search for people in your airport on the day you're traveling, and also people who fly out of the same airport you do! Also, tell your friends and business colleagues about AirTroductions! The more people that sign up, the more people you can meet! And remember - It's free to sign up, and free to see who's on your flight!
^ back to FAQ's list 10. I've met someone on AirTroductions. How do I get the airline to change my seat? The best way we've found to get the airline to change your seat is to just ask them. But be nice to them. Explain that you've met someone who could radically alter the course of your life - someone who you just have to sit next to at all costs. But again, do it nicely. Smile. Don't raise your voice. Don't demand. And hey, let's face it - if the person you want to meet is sitting in the emergency exit row and you want to sit next to them, you'll probably have a better chance if they move next to you - some seats are more easily obtainable than others. Also, remember this - The easiest seat to change FOR is a middle seat. So if the person you want to sit next to is in 17A, just ask for 17B. Usually the middle seats are empty until the last second, anyway. If you're switching up your aisle seat for a middle seat in order to be next to your match, we'd bet the person you're switching with won't have a problem taking your Aisle seat.
^ back to FAQ's list 11. I have a question you haven't answered here. What do I do? Shoot us an email [email protected] We'll get to work on it ASAP.Finally, When we first launched, we had about 200 members. In three weeks, we had over 1,400 members. Keep checking back, and keep adding your flights. We think you'll start to see some matches pretty quick!AirTroductions. HappIER travels.
